Monday - Lesson 5: Adam and Eve and Their Family Offered Sacrifices

The lesson

I love that we are studying the Old Testament this year in primary and sunday school.  Lesson 5: Adam and Eve and Their Family Offered Sacrifices is a wonderful teaching tool for us to teach children that the symbolism of sacrifices goes all the way back to the beginning of the world as we know it.

I love the introduction attention activity that relates to the importance of remember Heavenly Father and the Saviour.

Monday

The memorization game - relate that to How important it was for Adam and Eve to remember God and Jesus.  It is also very important for us to remember them every day.  We pray to Heavenly Father,  We read scriptures and when we are baptised all we do is in his name.

  • How was life different for Adam and Eve after they left the Garden of Eden? (Moses 5:1–4.)
  • What were Adam and Eve commanded to sacrifice to the Lord? (Moses 5:5.) Why did Adam offer sacrifices? (Moses 5:6.) Why is it wise to obey Heavenly Father’s commandments even if we do not completely understand why?
  • What did the angel tell Adam was the purpose for offering sacrifices? (Moses 5:7.) What does similitude mean? (A likeness or comparison.) Explain that the offering of sacrifices was to remind the ancient people about the sacrifice that Jesus Christ would one day make in taking our sins upon him and giving his life for us. This was a way for the people to always remember Jesus.
